The US Open Was a Success for Girlyz

Valencia, CA October 17th, 2006- Girlyz Clothing Co.- A company dedicated to bringing the highest quality riding gear to the motocross and power sports industry- is proud to report the race results at the Amateur Arenacross World Finals; October 15th, 2006; during the debut the Girlyz “Vision 2007 race line.

The line up of Girlyz at the Arenacross Finals included: Katie McGuire (Gunmetal), and Kaide Garrett and Lindsey Jelitto (in Sky Blue). “Cheering on three talented riders while they debut the 2007 race gear is a feeling like no other, it’s all finally coming together, Girlyz President, Jeannie King, pointed out. The first heat was exciting as all three riders finished in the top ten. Alyssa Nix led it wire to wire as she got the hole-shot and finished first in the first heat. Jelitto finished second; McGuire stalled at the start line and finished sixth, while Garrett finished ninth.

With confidence built strong, all three girls were anxious as they pulled to the gate for the main. The gate dropped and again it was Alyssa Nix got the hole shot while Jelitto and McGuire were strong on her tail in second and third. It was a tight battle for second as McGuire held strong on Jelitto’s tail. Jelitto went down in the whoops on lap five, with McGuire seconds behind; she had to chop the throttle in order to avoid hitting Jelitto and went down as well. While Jelitto was slow to get up, McGuire immediately jumped up on the bike and raced her way back to fifth place. Jelitto ended up in tenth place, and Garret ran a solid race and finished in fourth.

In the end, it was a successful debut. Although you didn’t see Girlyz on the podium this round, the riders had great reviews of the new 2007 line. McGuire exclaimed; “Girlyz has definitely made some great changes for women gear, I can’t believe how comfortable the line is!
