Tim Ferry Returns To Supercross Action At Houston

Team Yamaha rider says injured wrist is “about 80-percent

HOUSTON, (Feb. 13, 2004) — Team Yamaha’s Tim “Red Dog Ferry will be back aboard his YZ 250 today for the afternoon practice session at Houston’s Reliant Stadium and is expected to participate in tomorrow’s race, Round Seven of the 2004 THQ/AMA Supercross Series.

“I rode this week on my supercross track and feel that I can be competitive, said Ferry. “My wrist is about 80-percent. I figured I could wait a couple more weeks until it’s 100-percent, but that’s not my style. I’m excited to get back on the track and build on the great success Yamaha’s enjoyed already this year.

Ferry, who got off to a great start with a podium finish (3rd) at Anaheim 1, severely sprained his wrist in a practice session accident at Anaheim 2 (Jan. 17) and has been sidelined ever since. He’s still ranked in the top 20 (16th) in overall points even though he’s raced just two of six races.
