Traction Enterprises Weekly Update

#36 — Sean Hamblin (Team Suzuki)

  • Sean had a bad case of the flu last week in Minneapolis.   He got a near last-place start and finished a disappointing 15th place in the main event.
  • Sean spent some time with Dr. G this week and is feeling much better.
  • He is in 10th place overall in the series with 65 points.
  • In 2003, Atlanta was Sean’s 250cc supercross debut.   He finished 7th.
  • Immediately following Atlanta, Sean and his Suzuki teammates will travel to Florida to test and train in preparation for Daytona.

#60 — Broc Hepler (Team Suzuki)

  • Broc finished 8th last week in Minneapolis.
  • He is still in second place overall in the series with 35 points — 15 points behind James Stewart and only one point ahead of Steve Lamson.
  • Broc’s shoulder gets stronger each week.   He completed physical therapy this week.
  • The Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Broc’s home newspaper, is sending a journalist to Daytona to chronicle the 17-year-old’s racing experience.

#87 — Jeff Gibson (Team Star Racing/Yamaha)

  • Jeff got 13th place last week in Minneapolis.
  • He had bad luck in his heat last week, crashing on the last lap when he was in a qualifying position.   He regrouped and finished second in the LCQ.
  • Jeff finished in 15th place in Atlanta in 2003.
  • He is currently 12th in the 125cc West Series; his best finish was an 8th at Phoenix and San Francisco.

#1 E — Branden Jesseman (Team Suzuki)

  • The reigning 125cc East Champion is in his third week of recovery from wrist surgery and doing very well.
  • He starts physical therapy on his wrist next week.
  • He attended the Minneapolis Supercross last week and will be in Atlanta, Daytona, Indianapolis and Pontiac to greet fans and sign autographs.

#171 — Cole Siebler (Team Samsung/Radio Shack/Yamaha)

  • Cole has been out with a bulging disc in his back since the San Diego round.
  • He started riding this week.   He may race in St. Louis; he will definitely race in Indianapolis and Pontiac.
  • Although he only raced in three 125 West rounds, Cole is still in the top 20 in the series (18th).  
  • Cole will be attending a Radio Shack sales convention in Las Vegas this weekend.   In addition to meeting Radio Shack spokespeople like Vanessa Williams and Rick Fox, Cole and his team will be featured at the convention.
