TransWorld Motocross’ first Girl’s Learn to Ride day is in the books!

Thursday, October 23rd marked the first ever TWMX Girl’s Learn to Ride day at the Honda Rider Education Center in Colton, CA. The day was split up into 3 different groups, and girls from every part of the motocross industry came out to get dirty and learn how to ride a dirt bike like a pro. Although the class wasn’t taught by current Honda pros riders like Andrew Short and Ivan Tedesco, the Red Rider Ranch brought out another pro (one with the necessary patience needed to teach 40 industry girls how to ride), 9x Women’s World Champion, Mercedes Gonzales-Natvig. Mercedes was accompanied by her top level training staff, Charity, Nick, and Eddy to help guide the industry girls through their dirt bike boot camp.

The course was split up to take the girls through all the basics of being on a bike and then were given the chance to apply what they had learned on their trail course at the facility. The session includes: riding posture, safety techniques, starting, stopping, quick turns, swerving, turning techniques, and riding over obstacles. In short, they covered basically everything you need to know as a first timer on a dirt bike.

All in all, the day was a huge success and now the motocross industry girls are one step closer to becoming the next Ashley Fiolek. Ok, maybe not… but it would be nice to be on the cover of the December issue of Transworld Motocross like Ashley Fiolek right? Either way, we already know that motocross is on the minds of most of you guys and now, thanks to the first ever TWMX Girl’s Learn to Ride day, it’s on the minds of many girls as well.

Wish you too could be taught how to ride by the pros at Honda? Well, rest assured, you can. To learn more about the Honda Rider Education Center and to enroll in a class, call (909) 430-3020. The Honda Rider Education Center is located at 1301 Via Venita, Colton, CA 92324
