TransWorld Motocross Receives Mail Bomb!

In this day and age with extra airport security measures and the like, you’d think that horrific mail packages like this one we received today would be eliminated…

Ever the practical jokers, the guys at MotoNation included this nice little surprise inside a box of new Sidi Vortex Motocross boots. For some reason, we don’t think that this is what the suits at Mattel had in mind when they designed this particular Barbie doll…

This latest “surprise” is only the most recent in a series of many from Alex and Bill, but far from being the best. The best? In a past set of Sidi Force boots, the dynamic duo stuffed a big black rubber snake inside, jaws facing out. Though the joke was intended for Swap, he did not, in fact, open the boots for several weeks. It wasn’t until our Kawasaki KX250F introduction, that Swap handed the box over to test rider and photo model extraordinaire Rich Taylor, that the snake reared its ugly head. Keep in mind that we were at Cahuilla Creek, parked right next to a sign that reads, “Beware of rattlesnakes.” When RT reached inside the box, he let out a high-pitched scream that would have made Michael Jackson proud, and nearly fell out of the bed of his Ford truck…

But on to the boots! The new-for-2004 Sidi Vortex features several flashy new color combinations, as well as an all-new, super-trick buckle system. We’re huge fans of the Sidi Force boot, but have also had great experiences with the more affordable Vortex, shown here. The new aluminum buckle system has smooth, easy-to-operate actuation, and a wide range of adjustability.
