This Saturday, December 8th, The Masters of Mini series finale will take place in the New Indoor Motocross Facility – Mototown, USA – in Windsor, CT. The 5th stop on the tour, Mototown proves to be the Premiere Event for the Eastern half of the United States for the Pit Bike Race Scene. With over 220 entries already pre registered and racers coming in from Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Nevada, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Canada, and even Sweden (Yes Sweden) this event is becoming the talk of the industry for the second year in a row!
Two of the series champions will be sent to Las Vegas, NV for the biggest little event in the country — the Mini Moto SX taking place in May 2008. There is also a $5000 purse this year adding to the excitement — 2 classes will split the payout — the 10 Rockstar class and the 12 Rockstar class (MoM’s version of the Pro Classes). The payout will be 10 deep in each class with each winner taking home $1000.
Mototown USA, a 330,000 square foot Indoor Motocross Facility, is located at 1001 Day Hill Road in Windsor, CT. “This is the second year we have been back to Mototown for the Finale, says Series Promoter David Olcott, “The staff at Mototown has been extremely helpful in allowing us to build this event over the last 2 years!
Racers will be competing in 10 classes from ages 15 and up. The “senior class (ages 30 and up) is one of the favorites of the series as many adults have jumped into the Pit Bike Scene. “Pit Bike racing is a fun, safe way for my friends and me to continue with our love of 2 wheeled racing. This sport has grown over the years and the Masters of Mini Series has become the series to attend! exclaims Kevin Marshall, age 43. Two of the series champions will win a trip to Las Vegas, NV to compete in the Mini Moto Supercross event held in the Orleans Arena in May.
Registration for the event is opens at 8am for racers. Gates open at 10am to spectators and racing begins at 12:30pm sharp. Bring the family and come watch some exciting 2 wheeled racing action close to home! There will also be Free Magazines and Stickers for the kids (while supplies last) and a special movie premiere from Transworld Motocross magazine — WHY — the latest in high action motocross films.
