U.S. Open of Supercross Earns 3.1 Nielsen Rating on NBC

Highest Television Rating in U.S. Open History

AURORA, Ill. (October 26, 2005) ¿ The U.S. Open of Supercross, which aired on NBC for the second year in a row, earned a remarkable 3.1 overnight Nielsen rating for Sunday¿s broadcast.

Another milestone for Clear Channel Entertainment¿s Motor Sports division, the promoter and producer of the race held inside Las Vegas¿ MGM Grand Garden Arena, the U.S. Open was the largest-watched off-road motorcycle race in the U.S. since the 1998 Dallas supercross.

¿We are extremely happy to see that the overnight ratings are significantly higher than last year,¿ said Ken Hudgens, vice president of marketing and television, Clear Channel Entertainment ¿ Motor Sports. ¿We value our relationship with NBC. Their support of the U.S. Open is huge for the fans, sponsors, riders, and the teams.¿

The 2005 U.S. Open was initially scheduled to air immediately following the NASCAR event from Martinsville, VA. However, due to a record number of yellow caution flags during the race, the U.S. Open broadcast was not shown in its entirety. NBC has made a commitment to re-air the event on December 18, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. EST.

The 2004 U.S. Open of Supercross aired on NBC for the first time ever and earned an impressive 2.1 overnight Nielsen rating.
