VP Racing Continues Domination of Supercross

SAN ANTONIO (May 8, 2006) Pardon the folks at VP Racing Fuels for feeling a little cocky, but while everyone else was on pins and needles awaiting a Supercross champion to be determined this past weekend, VP was 100% confident it would be one of their riders. In fact, if you were a Supercross rider that finished in one of the top three positions in any of the last three years, the chances were indeed 100% that you were powered by one of VP’s MR Series racing fuels for motorcycles. That’s because VP has swept every championship podium in Supercross and Supercross Lites in 2004, 2005 and 2006!

In what was dubbed the most anticipated race in Supercross history Saturday, Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael won his fifth Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series title in front of 39,506 fans at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Kawasaki’s James Stewart won the race and his first-ever Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP. Chad Reed placed third in the race, tying Stewart for 2nd place in the championship hunt. Each was powered by VP’s MR Series racing fuel. This followed the completion of the Supercross Lites season in which Davi Millsaps, Chris Gosselaar and Josh Grant took the top three positions in the East while Grant Langston, Andrew Short and Ryan Villopoto finished on top in the West, each powered by (surprise) VP’s MR Series racing fuel.

It would be very interesting to see if any other manufacturer of performance parts and products for motorcycle racing could muster a record to match VP’s dominance in the last three years. In the meantime, it would appear any Supercross racer who needs directions to the podium should start with a call to VP.

VP Racing is the Official Racing Fuel of AMA (American Motorcycle Association) Supercross as well as exclusive fuel supplier and/or sponsor of Best in the Desert; Champ Car Atlantic; NHRA Championship Drag Racing; IJSBA (International Jet Sports Boating Association); SKUSA (Superkarts!
