Washougal MX 2012: Practice Report

Motocross has made its annual pilgrimage to the Great Northwest for the Washougal National. Mild temperatures and gargantuan trees have kept both riders and fans cool, and the moisture-rich track continues to develop as the riders spin laps during practice.
Already the Washougal grounds are packed with fans taking in qualifying practice. In the 450 class, Honda Muscle Milk’s Tommy Hahn set the tone early by logging the fastest lap in the first practice session. Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey turned it on in the final minutes of the second practice, however, to handily take over the top qualifying spot.
Dungey’s Red Bull KTM teammate, Marvin Musquin, held the fast lap through both sessions of the 250 class. Points leader Blak Baggett was just shy of Musquin’s time, as both of them dipped into the 2:06 mark. Ken Roczen and the Geico Honda duo of Justin Barcia and Eli Tomac rounded out the top five. Check out some photos from the sessions below, along with the top five qualifying times from both classes.
