Who’s Next? (WMA Style)

You may not have heard of Vanessa Florentino yet but at only 17 she has the discipline, determination, speed, and charisma of a potential champion.

Competing in her first ever WMA race last November (Z1R Helmets WMA Cup), she won two amateur championships on Saturday. Turning pro overnight, Vanessa then went on to finish a solid 3-3 for third on Sunday’s pro podium with top WMA riders Jessica Patterson and Sarah Whitmore. Taking the holeshot in the second pro moto, she lead the pack several laps.

On the track she’s a fighter and fierce a competitor (her second favorite past time is boxing), but once she takes her helmet off she’s a typical easygoing teenager who just happens to love the sport of motocross.

After taking time off from her daily practice regimen earlier in the year due to a practice crash that landed her in the hospital with a concussion and a torn kidney, Vanessa’s now ready to race.

Her first WMA National is this weekend at Glen Helen in San Bernardino, CA.

In a year with some of the best riders ever on the line at the Hitachi WMA Nationals she’ll definitely be one to keep your eye on.

The motocross industry is starting to take notice of Vanessa as well. Here’s what some of her sponsors have to say:
