ANAHEIM, Calif., (October 6, 2006) – On Sept. 7, 2006, the Women’s Motocross/Supercross Foundation (WMXF) held their 3rd Annual MotoBowl, sponsored by Monster Energy, at the Concourse Bowl in Anaheim, CA. This unique event was designed to help raise money for the WMXF to directly benefit injured riders and their families, the Asterisk Mobile Medical Unit crew and other industry causes.
Many top racers and other industry notables volunteered to be captains of the 38 bowling teams, with the remainder of the team spots being made up by fans. The bowling spots were auctioned off on eBay, giving fans the chance to bowl with moto celebrities like Jeremy McGrath, Ivan Tedesco, Andrew Short, David Vuillemin, Davi Millsaps, Ryan Villopoto, Erin Bates, Jeff Emig, Ernesto Fonseca, Greg Albertyn and many more!
There was also a silent auction going on during the bowling, with some awesome items donated by Ogio, Monster Energy, Alpinestars and more, race tickets for 2007 Supercross events, plus tons of autographed gear from the riders themselves. Troy Lee Designs created some extremely cool looking “bowling pin trophies for the winners of the bowling awards.
MotoBowl attendees were also treated to a spaghetti dinner and everyone had a chance to mingle with the attending celebs and fellow bowlers. A great time was had by all!
This year’s MotoBowl was a giant success, with the silent auction alone bringing in over $12,000! In total, the WMXF raised twice as much money this year as compared to last year’s event. Thanks to everyone who supported the cause and participated in this year’s MotoBowl.
