MOVING ON FROM THE GOOGLE AT WASHOUGAL (WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT MEAN?? I DON¿T KNOW BUT IT SURE SOUNDS COOL), WE FIND OUR HARD WORKING HOGS CONTINUING TO TURN SOWS EARS INTO SILK PURSES (GOOGLE THAT REFERENCE IF NEED BE), HEADED TO MINNESOTA TO GIVE THE WHOOP MONSTER A BEATING HE¿LL NEVER FORGET . . .
Washougal, WA. The privateers once again looted the Wonder Warthog Racing trust fund for cash starved racers, taking awards that have been up for grabs during the entire 2005 AMA Motocross Championship series.
(See our website at http://www.WonderWarthogRacing.com for details of enrolled rider and payment history)
The Washougal awards were won by:
Our Privateer of the Week was Aubriana Dunn. Aubriana races in the WMA and she flies! Her philosophy of ¿Go big, or go home¿ pushed her to 5th overall at Washougal. Thanks to Miki Keller and the WMA for their efforts.
The$1000 DeCalWorks/Team Warthog Most Improved Privateer Program (MIPP) ¿ Open Class award (http://www.DecalMX.com) goes toBobby Garrison, with an individual moto improvement of three positions, from 29th overall at Lakewood to 26th at Washougal.
Michael Sleeter, Another First-time Winner!!! Mike improved in the 250F class from 32nd at Lakewood to 26th at Washougal, an improvement of 6 positions, to capture the $1000 Engine Ice/Team Warthog MIPP — 250F Class award http://www.EngineIce.cc).
So adding it all up, WWR has awarded $120,195 in direct cash awards during the 2005 season to date. And every dollar that comes in goes right back out to the privateers. All volunteers pay their own expenses to ensure we maximize every dollar generated by the revenue generating programs. The work is NEVER done and the awards are paid out on an as funded basis ¿ meaning we can always use help with cash!!!
RUNNING IN CIRCLES IN A VIRTUOUS CIRCLE . . .
Briefly, the virtuous circle is working to make Team Warthog sustainable over the long haul ¿ Why?? Because apparently enough of you¿ all feel these programs are making a difference. Think of a circle of individuals where everybody wins ¿ the privateers, the sponsors, the ultra-elite riders/contributors, volunteers, media, etc. There are no losers associated with Team Warthog.
Who¿s in this cool sounding yet somewhat unusual circle this week????
The ¿Ultra-Elite Riders¿ ¿ to a man (and woman and their sponsors), they are contributing across the board. All the top 20 of this sport — they¿re giving something back and we really, really appreciate it!!
This past race at Washougal, the riders were in a very giving mood and ¿The Mole¿ was running around collecting auction booty like a warthog running from a hungry lion (warthogs have top speeds of 35mph, not too bad, considering they have no motors!!). Our good friends, contributors, and supporters of the privateers from Washougal are listed here:
- James ¿Bubba¿ Stewart
- Kevin Windham
- Ricky Carmichael
- Davi Millsaps
- Broc Hepler
- Mike Brown
- Matt Walker
- Sean Hamblin
- Stefy Bau
- Yamaha of Troy Team
- Team Subway
Bubba, a long-time supporter of the whole WWR program, went out of his way to make sure we got an ultra cool set of his gear. This was above the call of duty as he was out from Washougal with an injury and still made sure Beeker from Fox Racing (www.foxracing.com) hooked us up. Thanks Bubba, and thanks to every contributor for making the dream of helping support the sport by supporting the privateers a reality.
Ouauction revenue is powered by the generosity of these guys. Visit the auctions site at http://ww.WonderWarthogRacing.com/auctions/ and bid high, because all proceeds are going directly to the privateers of Team Warthog.
Our Volunteers — Special thanks this week to my brother, The Mole. Mole was doggedly in pursuit of any and all auction SWAG at Washougal and ended up shattering the previous record, held by either Bauer or me, I¿m not sure who. Anyway, The Mole has selflessly killed himself for the program this year and we all are better people for knowing and loving him.
Weekly props to John Ayers, Tim Cotter, and Pat Schutte of the NPG — we really appreciate your continued support.
And as always:
Our Primary Sponsors; they¿re driving our success!!! They make each week possible; filling the coffers and generally caring about the health of the sport.
DeCalWorks (http://www.DecalMX.com) answers the call for privateer support every time they hear a hog squeal from WWR. They are Team Warthog¿s Title Sponsor for the outdoor season and the supplier of the rare and collectible Team Warthog decals as well as the manufacturer of the best pre-printed number plates on the planet.
Our other 2005 Primary Sponsors include:

We couldn¿t have done any of it without the acceptance and help of our friends at the NPG, Clear Channel Entertainment, and the AMA Pro Racing in integrating WWR’s ideas with their existing packages designed to benefit the privateers.
You have officially reached the end of this press release. Do you feel better now??
Wonder Warthog Racing (WWR) is a unique company formed to better the sport of motocross. WWR is comprised of two distinct entities: Team Warthog, created to conceptualize, fund, and execute meaningful programs aimed directly at the privateers; and Wonder Warthog Enterprises (WWE), which is currently in cryogenic suspension, may one day be defrosted to focus on merchandise and entertainment products such as video games and cartoon incarnations based on the Wonder Warthog comic book character. By a decree of the Warthog himself, a portion of WWE revenues are earmarked for Team Warthog funding.
