On the heels of yesterday’s cancellation of the 2017 Motocross of Nations at Glen Helen Raceway, MXGP series promoter Youthstream have announced the replacement venue. As expected, the top motocross countries from around the world will converge at Matterley Basin in Great Britain. The track has hosted the event once before, in 2006, and the massive layout that runs through the natural amphitheater is a staple in the Monster Energy FIM Motocross World Championship.
American motocross fans were understandably upset by the change in location, which per the press release was a mutual agreement between event organizers and the track based on low spectator turnout at the last two MXGP events in SoCal, but there was a line of hope for future MXON in the USA as they are considering options for 2019.
