Team Switzerland’s roster for the 2017 Motocross of Nations has been announced. With Jeremy Seewer, Arnaud Tonus, and Valentin Guillod confirmed as riders, it’s clear that the team is sticking with their proven lineup from 2016. But there is one slight difference in the role reversal of Valentin Guillod and Jeremy Seewer, with Honda RedMoto Assomotor's Guillod running the MX2/250 position and Team Suzuki World MXGP's Seewer going to the MX3/Open position. This will get Seewer the chance compete aboard a works version of the all-new 2018 Suzuki RM-Z450. Tonus, meanwhile, will continue on the all-new 2018 Yamaha YZ450F he’s debuted with support from Wilvo Yamaha Official MXGP.
Tonus is currently ranked eleventh in the MXGP championship standings but sat out the 2017 MXGP of Sweden due to broken ribs and Guillod has missed much of the season with a hand injury that required surgery. Seewer is ranked second in the MX2 championship standings.
Switzerland finished sixth overall at the 2016 Motocross of Nations in Italy; Tonus posted 4-8 finishes, Seewer 8-11 finishes, and Guillod 13-16 finishes despite a shoulder and finger injury from a crash in the Saturday qualifying race.
The 2017 Motocross of Nations takes place September 29th-October 1st at Matterley Basin in England. The event’s official website is www.mxon17.com.
