The Wilvo Yamaha Official MXGP team have announced Arnaud Tonus will sit out the 2017 MXGP of Sweden, the sixteenth round of the 2017 Monster Energy FIM Motocross World Championship, due to the broken rib he sustained at the previous round. After taking a very popular moto win in front of the Swiss crowd at the 2017 MXGP of Switzerland, Tonus crashed over a jump in the second moto and was hit by another rider as he got off of the ground.

This is Tonus’ rookie season in the 450 class, as the Swiss native spent two years racing in the United States before returning this year to join the Yamaha group and debuted the all-new YZ450F at the 2017 MXGP of Czech Republic. He is currently ranked ninth in the MXGP class championship, but by sitting out this round, will most likely slip outside the top-ten.
