2017 San Diego SX | Purse Payout

Supercross season earnings after two rounds

2017 SAN DIEGO SX | COMPLETE COVERAGE

Ever wondered how much the winner of a Supercross main event takes home? What about the guy in twenty-second place? Well, here are your answers. The entire purse breakdown for each round of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross series is listed as part of the AMA rulebook online, with the money being split between the two classes. As one would expect the 450 class receives most of the $121,080 sum of money, with a feature win resulting in a $12,000 award. The winner of a 250 main event, meanwhile gets $3350.

Now, this isn’t the only money one gets for a night of work. There are various bonuses paid out to top finishers from their teams/sponsors, and privateers are able to enlist in contingency programs offered by motorcycle manufacturers. Usually, the 450 main event winner will earn a hefty bonus or more from their respective OEM, with a lesser bonus paid to the 250 main event winner.

Have a look at the complete purse payout from the second round of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross Series, plus the total sum from past races.
