While on the podium following his 250 Moto One win at the 2017 Budds Creek MX, the first MX moto win of his career, Adam Cianciarulo announced that he has signed a multi-year contract extension to stay with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki. This news is timely, as Cianciarulo’s current contract with the team was to run out at the end of the 2017 season and was reportedly courted by other teams for a new deal.
Cianciarulo’s connect to Kawasaki is extensive, as he rode for the brand during most of his amateur career and transitioned to the professional ranks with support from Mitch Payton’s Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team. The two groups have stuck together through thick and thin, like AC’s breakout amateur season, a lengthy list of injuries, and in his recent return to the front of the field in the 250 class.
This also means that Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s lineup for 2018 and beyond is becoming a little more clear. Austin Forkner is in the middle of his current multi-year contract and Savatgy is expected to return, but there’s no definite news pertaining to 2017 250 West Coast SX champion Justin Hill’s return or if a new rider will fill his spot.
