Atlanta Second Practice Sessions

The second set of practice sessions for the second round of East Coast racing just concluded inside the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. Just like the first round of practice, San Manuel/Yamaha’s James Stewart posted the quickest lap in the Supercross class, while Houston SX winner Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Christophe Pourcel once again turned in the quickest time in the Lites class. As for the defending Supercross Class Champion Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki’s Chad Reed, he was second quickest—only less than a second off Stewart’s best time. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto completed the top three in the SX class.

Second and third in the Lites class went to Pourcel’s teammate Austin Stroupe—he was one second off Pourcel’s best—and Muscle Milk/MDK/KTM’s Martin Davalos. Another rider who made news in practice was Geico Powersports/Honda’s Brett Metcalfe who crashed hard in the first session and didn’t return for the second. Jagermeister/KTM’s Josh Summey also went down hard in the second session, but word from his mechanic is that he’s ok, but just a little sore. He should be racing tonight.

Tonight’s race will be televised live on Speed TV tonight beginning at 7:30 PM Eastern time. Don’t forget to watch!

Beautiful Lutes !!! Spot on, thanks again for the SUPER past updates. LOL sand section claims another… Stroupes bike is giving him the ground and pound pretty good. Hopefully he isn’t down and out.

Thanks again Lutes, you rock !!

  • Brendan Lutes Says:

No worries, it’s my job yo… haha. Yeah, Stroupe jumped right up after he went down in the sand and finished out the practice session.

Sucks to see Stewart win another one…

  • Colter McKay Says:

Sucks? Can’t blame Stewart for not having a worthy opponent. I actually managed to see the SX main and boy oh boy. ‘Sucks to see Stewart win another’ What about Tedesco taking Grant out in the sand section… That truly was a dodgey move. Wonder if hot sauce took the time to appologize for his actions. Or if Troy Adams felt bad for accidently blocking reed doing the finish line double…

Any who, what a awesome race. RV2 sure shit the bed when Reed was applying pressure as well. Youth against expierence… Overall, im glad to see JS take the race, props to a hard working individual accomplishing his goals. If it wasn’t for the super fast updates, I would of had no clue who was doing what those practice sessions. Momentum is huge, and im glad i got to know who was carrying what into each of the mains :-) Big ups to Lutes and the rest of the TWMX Crew !

no it doesn’t. it sucks to see no battles but it’s nice to see bubba win again he deserves it.

  • Christian Says:

at least reed keeps him honest…..stewart is up front for a reason…pourcel again too…that dude is quick…let’s face it….Reed has to get better starts…and charge right away…

  • GB147 Says:

Reed will get Stewart…if he would have had a start tonight, he would have had a good 20 laps in him. He just needs a start and some confidence….and it’s not like Tedesco meant to take Grant out, it was kinda like what happened at Red Bud when STEWART LANDED ON CARMICHAEL in ‘05! Face it, the racing is boring right now, and I can’t wait to see a new face at the top of the box here soon.

i think its nice to see martin davalos getting some exposure. he deserves it for sure.

  • spellman481 Says:

Stewart wins races because he is the fastest man on the planet. The other riders need to step up if they even want a chance at the top box of the podium. Enouph said about that. Love the pics of Grant. That boy can whip. BRRRUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPP.

  • Jesse Says:

Grant has the turn down whip down to a science!

  • CRrider94 Says:

why does it say sebastian? i know that his name is christophe pourcel… i know that sebastian was the only one who could keep up with stewart and MXoN 2008… and then at anaheim 1 they said christophe.. and i know that jeff emig never mentioned a sebastian… so are they brothers?? and why does it say sebastion, TWMX.. i KNOW that i never heard anything about sebastian, so either theyre the same person or you guys are just as confused as i am…

  • CRrider94 Says:

TWMX, you guys really fuked up.. i just did my research and they are brothers, and christophe is the on racing here in the states in the east lites series… now why it says sebastien up there in the first couple sentences is beyond me, but as far as im concerned, you guys fuked up big time… i mean, you guys are pros.. and dont gimme that sh!t about how this is free, because ill put you back in your place, im sure these kind people wouldnt wanna know about how many cookies are on theyre computers and waht they do
