Chad Reed’s switch to a privately built Kawasaki in the off-season raised plenty of eyebrows, seeing as the TwoTwo Motorsports owner turned down a ride on a factory bike with another manufacturer. By Anaheim Two, it was obvious the technicians and sponsors had crafted a machine to compete with the best in the Monster Energy Supercross Series. Unfortunately, Reed’s season came to an early end with a crash in San Diego, but Dean Wilson has put the America’s Tire/TwoTwo Motorsports KX450F back on the track with a temporary ride. At early round this season, we had team mechanic Lars Lindstrom explain the details on the switch to Kawasaki and the process of building a ride to Reed’s liking.
