Cooper Webb | Injury Update

Shoulder Injury May Sideline The Number 2

The 2017 Minneapolis Supercross saw its fair share of action throughout the night, but likely the most talked about aspect was the crash sustained by Cooper Webb. The Monster Energy/Yamalube/Chaparral/Yamaha Financial Services rider took a hard hit during the opening lap of Heat 2 after grabbing the holeshot. The number two was running next to Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna’s Dean Wilson at the front of the pack as they entered the second turn when the pair came together. Webb clipped Wilson’s rear fender and hit the ground hard with his left shoulder-first, but was able to walk off the track under his own power.

It has been revealed by Yamaha that Webb did in fact injure his left shoulder, but the extent of the injury is still an unknown, as it’s going to require further evaluation. Webb took to Instagram Sunday evening to give everyone this update.
