It’s unfortunate that Dean Wilson will miss the remainder of the 2015 season with a major knee injury. Things were slow to start for the 450 class rookie, but it seemed like the Red Bull KTM rider was on the right track when he suffered a crash at the team’s test track just before the Oakland round of the Monster Energy Supercross Series. The torn ACL and MCL required reconstructive surgery, which will take the better part of the year to fully heal.

There is some good news to the bad situation in that Wilson recently started rehab and road biking for the wounded joint, has plans to visit Red Bull’s top-notch facility in Europe for further therapy, and still has another year left on his contract with the prestigious team. From our talk short chat in the pits at Daytona, it sounds like the time away  has rekindled the young racer’s passion for the sport and he’s anxious to throw a leg back over the bike as soon as possible.
