The Dodge/Hart and Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel-Ray Supercross Racing continued its solid start to the 2012 SX season with all three active riders qualifying for the Main Event Saturday night at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. Josh Hill suffered a broken leg in Anaheim and was unable to race; Josh will be sidelined for the next several weeks.
All three (3) active riders, Josh Hansen, Ivan Tedesco and Kyle Partridge, qualified directly for the main event from their respective heat races. Josh Hansen scored his second straight top 10 finish of the season (10th) while Ivan Tedesco recovered from a 1st lap pile-up to finish 11th. Kyle Partridge, racing in his first main event of the season, finished 17th. All three riders currently rank in the top 20 in the series point’s standings with Hansen 10th, Tedesco 11th and Partridge 20th.
The next AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series race will be held this Saturday, Jan. 21 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Quotes from the Team:
Josh Hansen, #100: “In the Heat race I got a clean 4th place; 4th place start, 4th place finish. In the main I had a decent 8th place start and on the first lap James Stewart ran into me and our bikes got caught up in each other which ripped my back break off. I worked my way through the pack from about 18th place and I got up into the top 10 which was good considering I had no rear brakes.”
Ivan Tedesco, #9: “I rode well this weekend in Phoenix and I’m riding better than my results have shown. I’m coming into LA feeling healthy and I look forward to improving my race results.”
Kyle Partridge, #83: “I was in 13th place off the gate in Heat #2 and I made my way through the pack up to 7th place. On the final lap I was passed by Ryan Villopoto to finish 8th place and earn a direct transfer spot into the main. For the Main I had an outside gate pick and was pushed wide off the start and went around the first turn in last place. I worked my way into 12th place by the half-way point behind Ivan and Josh before and I came together with a tuff block and bent the pipe and the rear of my bike. I managed to salvage some points and finished in 17th place overall. This week we will work on my starts so I can be up front off of the start and not have to work from behind.”
