American Honda Announces More 2010 Models
Torrance, CA: American Honda Motor Company’s Powersports Division announced today its summer release of 2010 motorcycle, ATV and MUV products. This announcement follows the earlier release of Honda’s 2010 Fury, and the SH150i and Elite® scooters.
“Today we’re releasing 2010 Honda off-road motorcycles, ATVs, Big Red Side-by-Side, and the legendary Gold Wing,” said Powersports Press Manager Bill Savino. “Leading the list of big changes is the all-new CRF250R featuring a whole new engine with fuel injection and an all-new twin-spar aluminum frame. These new 2010 models together with the 2009 and 2010 models already released represents our complete line of Off-Road motorcycles, ATV, Scooters and Side-by-Side vehicles. Later this year, we will be announcing additional street models. We’re excited about the extensive and varied line of products we continue to offer our customers for work and pleasure.”

CRF250R
Topping the list of exciting news is the 2010 CRF250R motocrosser. Boasting an all-new, more powerful, more compact engine with electronic fuel injection and an all-new twin-spar aluminum frame with the Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD), the 2010 CRF250R continues Honda’s long-standing position of class dominance. CRF450R

What they need to do is to stop adding this bull#$%^ that the pros run like the steering dampner, etc. Thats what is increasing the prices is from all the extras. What happened to the good ole days when the stock bike was actually stock the people who wanted to add the stuff could on their own dime. Most amatuers dont even need that stuff, there just nickel and diming us. Honda, go back to the basics and make the stuff like the engine better with your resources instead of all this other crap.

I was talking to a saleman at a dealership,, and he said the yen to us dollar is becoming too high to import the bikes to the US. They had to raise the prices in 2010 to recoop some of the losses. AWESOME!!!!

Pros don't use them because it's not legal in AMA Pro Racing to race 250cc two-strokes against 250cc four-strokes. If the factories built a modern 450cc two-stroke it would easily beat a 450cc four-stoke. Four-strokes are around because they are bigger, not better. Two-strokes are lighter, cheaper, easier to maintain, have less moving parts and make more horsepower per cc than four-strokes.

So I'm guessing they dropped the duals? I agree, If honda didn't have their head so far up their ass they would keep producing and refining the CR 2-stroke line up. Don't get me wrong, I love the CRF line up (I own 2…an 06, and 08) but come on. There is a market out there for the 250 smokers again, and I personally would buy one no questions asked if they came back out. KTM and Yami are being smart keeping their pinger line up going. The only reason I'm buying an 06 or 07 CR250 is because some of the parts are interchangable also. Otherwise I would be looking at a KTM ot Yami…but I bleed red to so that has some say so.

Ok lets get this strait most pro's would rather ride a 2 stroke the problem is they wont pay them the contention money !!!! when Ricky was showing up ay the Supercross and doing laps on the 2 stroke RM they told him not to and to use a 4 Joke RMZ Why Because 2 strokes are a far more superior machine CC for CC don't put a 450 against a 250 although the 250 can still win against it .

I personally can't wait for the 2010 cr250r to hit dealership floors, cause i will pay what ever to get fuel injected 250f, I'm to small for the crf450 and hate starting my 09 crf250r lets hope the FI fixes the starting problem

2 strokes are comming back the buzz is everywhere there pricing the bikes to high and its hurting the sport . Ok who would buy a 3 year old 250F for $3500 ??? nowing its a time bomb Tick tick tick BOOM now another $1500 to $2000 to fix ?? Ok ill go buy a 125 2 stroke for 1200 or 1500 and be on the track even freshin up the motor and it already has a pipe and Reeds other cool things and ya no what i beat 95% of the 250f 's and the other 5% is just a faster rider its 90% Rider 10 % bike remember that . I love when these kids sell there old 2 stroke to go buy a 250F because there gona go faster yeaaaaaaaaa Right .

Your right on that one Look what happen to John Dowd he was winning the local races on his KX 250 and he got no Money from kawasaki for winning because he was on a 2 stroke and it was a KX 250 AF he was killing everyone go 4 Pokes no 450 could keep up

I think four-strokes had the "new" factor going for them. The ads always pushed how high tech they were, and no one wants to be left behind with old technology. I owned a 2006 RM-Z450, and it was a great bike, but I sold it and I've built my 2004 RM250 into a monster. I've ridden my friend's fuel injected 2008 RM-Z450, as well as other people's CRF450R and YZ450F bikes; no KXFs though. They were pretty fast, but didn't have the fun factor of my modded two-stroke. I like the four-stoke bikes, but not as much as two-strokes.

SEE! I knew it. Four strokes, EFI, dual exhaust, some of us working class riders have not seen a dealership floor in a few years. I don't want to buy a bike I can not fix and the 4 stroke is that. Now with EFI forget it. You will need a computer program to get in there and tinker. Our Honda dealer charges $65/hour. Dirtbikes need work PERIOD. Working class people (with bills - not the teens out there) can not pay 8-9 K for a bike and maintain it. Don't they know this?
I love my 2 smoke! No valves and $60 + 2 hours to do the top end!

I am a honda salesman….and we have been discussing for years that all brands have priced themselves way to high with features that are great but most do not need or want!!! As far as why no 2 strokes dont blame the manufactures… 3 little letters EPA!!!! the treehuggers beat us!!!! GOOD NEWS HONDA been in development of a new 2 stroke that will meet EPA laws!!!! I FEEL YOUR PAIN GUYS!!!!
