Ivan Tedesco just phoned in to give us a quick update on his condition and his plans to return to racing on Sunday at Budds Creek. That’s right, Hot Sauce will be back on the #9 RMZ450 this weekend! “I’ve been riding for a few weeks now and was ready to come back at Southwick, but we decided coming back in the sand was probably not the best idea,” explained Tedesco. “So I will be back this weekend at Budds,” he told us.
When we asked about the crash and subsequent concussion that sidelined him prior to the season opener at Hangtown, Ivan told us that while there were no lasting injuries, he always takes a head injury seriously. “The week before Hangtown I was practicing at Glen Helen and swapped out really bad, and ended up with a concussion,” said Tedesco. “The doctors did an MRI and checked me out…so I decided not to rush things and take my time to get ready to come back,” he explained.
While we had Ivan on the phone, we couldn’t resist the chance to ask him about the rumors that he will be making the switch to Team Honda next year. Not surprisingly the current Makita/Suzuki rider couldn’t comment, but said he would fill us in soon.
Thanks for the update, Hot Sauce!
