Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna has confirmed that Jason Anderson has undergone surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and other events. Anderson has suffered a string of injuries in the last month, first in a practice crash that resulted in a back and internal injuries just before the 2017 Southwick MX and then in a road bicycle crash that inflicted severe road rash on the palms of his hands, a pair of issues that have kept him from lining up or scoring points in the last six motos.

Anderson's summer started off with a rough moto at the opening round at Hangtown, when an eye injury forced him out of the first moto, but he rallied back by finishing in the top-ten through the next eleven motos. As mentioned above, Anderson has not scored points since Southwick and has fallen to sixth in the championship standings. The rider and team inked a contract extension in 2015 that runs through the conclusion of the 2018 race season, so his spot for next year at Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna is safe.
