Officials at BBR (Brown Brothers Racing) Motorsports announced today that defending WSX Lites champion, Jason Lawrence (Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy Racing) is registered and will contest the premier MME-12, or expert 12” wheel class, on a ‘works’ BBR/Monster Energy V3 Perimeter 110/160 4-Valve at the upcoming Maxxis MiniMotoSX at Vegas’ Orleans Arena, Friday, May 1st.

BBR, the industry leader in adult four-stroke playbike performance technology, and Lawrence got together when Lawrence showed some interest in possibly checking out the MMSX on Friday prior to the Monster Energy Supercross finals in Vegas the following day.
“I thought it’d be something fun to check out,” said Lawrence of the MMSX. “BBR was down with setting up a bike for me and I thought ‘Yeah, let’s go for it.’”
With a free ride to the finals if he so chooses (MMSX promoters’ ruling regarding SX/MX champs racing MMSX), Lawrence can step in and, with the same amount of practice time all the other pros get on Thursday prior to the race, see if he can top the likes of defending champ – BBR’s Derek Costella. Or, if Lawrence decides to go the qualifier route, he’ll get some more saddle time on the custom #338 BBR MM12E bike.
“Yeah, I haven’t really thought about that yet,” said Lawrence of his MMSX strategy. “I’ve got a couple mini bikes, but I’m sure they’re not nearly as fast as what BBR’s putting together for me. I’m pumped to ride it, really. Friday at the Orleans is gonna be a blast.”
BBR engineers pulled no punches on creating a MONSTER of 160cc mini for Lawrence. Check out this list of some of the goodies that went into crafting this custom bike for the defending WSX Champ.
-BBR V3 Polished Aluminum Perimeter Frame
-BBR Billet SuperComp Adjustable Swingarm

“While Jason’s no stranger to high level competition, we wanted to make sure he’s outfitted with the best, most competitive bike we could possibly create to line up for the MiniMotoSX,” said BBR’s Duane Brown. “Everything the Monster Energy/BBR Race Team and BBR Factory Team guys have access to, we’ve engineered into the #338 bike for Jason. And I think I speak for everyone not only here at BBR, but in the entire MX industry, that we can’t wait to see how Jason does against the world’s top mini bike racers in Vegas.”
Pitting under the BBR banner at Vegas along with Lawrence and Costella will be Ryan Abrigo, Derek Rose, Jason Anderson (Monster/BBR), Tim Weigand and Victor Sheldon (BBR Factory) along with the all the other BBR factory team riders.
Depending on which Brown Brother you talk to (Duane, Chris or Brent), BBR was founded sometime between 1981 when Brent Brown was into drag racing and 1982 when they changed the name of their bike shop to “BBR” and began sponsoring local BMX racers. Over the years BBR Motorsports has grown into the industry’s premier adult four-stroke playbike performance technology company. Engineering from the minds of racers, coupled with the latest in CAD and CNC technology, allows BBR to house one of the largest selections of innovative four-stroke MX performance parts in the world. Names from McGrath and Stanton to Costella and Abrigo dominate the nation’s premier adult mini cycle races riding BBR product – so can you. April 21st, 2009 at 4:28 pm
when is this kid going to pull his head out of his butt and stop acting like a clown…dont get me wrong, i kinda like the kid, he’s good for a laugh, but he seriously needs to learn impulse control on and off the track. it will be interesting to see how he does in this race……its a shame that this is what his racing career has become.

who said he wasnt racing vegas supercross?
April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 pm
Good for Jason. IMHO, I think Jason and Broc may have had a problem from last year at the San Diego XGames, also had same trainer Ryan Hughes. Just a guess though. I hope he gets to race the minis, am willing to bet there will be more than the usual spectators for this race.

April 22nd, 2009 at 7:52 am
thanks-it has been a long time since i have been called that! and by the way, in your post, it should be “you’re” not your. it is a shame you can’t spell correctly. hahaha
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:02 pm
and you spell mommie “mommy” so maybe your not as smart as you think. Why do people come on here spilling their whole personal opinion. SOOO BORING…DIRTBIKEMOMMIE YOU ARE AN IDIOT GO AWAY AND KILL YOUR FAMILY
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:07 pm
you dont realize how low the popularity motocross is. Thanks to the AMA, ALMOST nobody even knows what it is and when you bring up dirtbikes they think freestyle. sounds to me like it would be a step up. that route seemed to work nicely for pastrana.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:16 pm
D-law is such a d-bag…..I guess if you cant do anything else because you are suspended then…best of luck…Wait…Who are we kidding!!!..D-law will be up all night throwing the rest of his career away to participate in the event…
I am stocked that BBR would want to team up with that guy….My image of BBR is “quality, reliable….. Solid fit and finish” ..Ironically NONE of the traits Jason Lawrence possesses and I do look at BBR differently now they showed they would want to help an idiot of the sport..
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:47 pm
Not only that, mini bike racing is very competitive and is nothing to look down on. when you make fun of mini bike racing you are making fun of McGrath and many other veterans. He obviously still has a future in racing.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:51 pm
Are you kidding me? End up in FMX? Right now FMX is prolly harder to get into that moto. just to get invited to X Games you basically need to be able to double flip, or pull somthing that no one has done. Not to mention you need to own a 60,000$ foam pit and a couple metal ramps.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:55 pm
The answer as to why they would want to team up with jason is quite simple….BECAUSE HE IS FAST AS HELL!!!!
April 23rd, 2009 at 9:56 pm
And??..Fast as hell and horrible to sponsor…Yea that’s great for the sport…Bring in new sponsors and burn them with his garbage attitude and career ethic..I hope they stick around and give it another go with other riders that are actually doing something…..Not some drugged out punk kid that should get punted from the AMA
April 24th, 2009 at 3:16 pm
so are you friend’s with j-law how do you know he is druged out just because everyone else says so u dumb bitch and plus he has been planin on doin this race for like 3 months its not like he just said he was goin to do it’s be planed and you say he is horrible to sponsor but yet the team he is on is a team he built with his own money retard
April 29th, 2009 at 9:26 pm

May 4th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
never mind got this from the mini sx site:
Las Vegas NV (Friday, May 1st) – A sold out crowd at the Orleans Arena witnessed an action packed night of fifteen main events. Red Baron Racing’s Michael Blose dominated the premier 12-inch expert class over Monster Energy/BBR’s Tim Weigand and Red Baron teammate David Pingree. Monster Energy/BBR’s Ryan Abrigo, a consistent front runner at major Mini events, finally won the big one by topping the 10-inch Expert class over defending champion Derek Costella and Ryan Beat. Jason Lawrence, the bad boy of Supercross showed a lot of speed but could not avoid controversy as he began a block passing session with several riders and eventually finished sixteenth.

These bikes are sick I would love to have one especially because I lived out where I was able to ride and no one would complain then I moved into a neighborhood where I can't ride unless it is very quiet because alot of old people who are retired and don't know what to do exept complain live by me. so if you can help me resolve this problem whether you have me work for it which i would even do roofing for which sucks or find me a good price on one of these bikes let me know because I have grew up riding and would like to continue doing so. Thank you a long time fan Cody
