Moose Racing’s Zach Ames Races to the Lead In Arenacross Championship
Moose Racing’s Zach Ames captured his second overall win of the Amsoil Arenacross season at the Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Ark. The one night event saw some shake up in the standings as Ames’ victory pushed him past his teammate Bowers in the standings to the top of the leaderboard. Ames currently leads by three points over second, and after a tough night for Bowers in fifth, the defending champ moves to third in the standings.
Entering the night in second in the Western Regional Arenacross Lites standings, Tyler Villopoto was hopeful to take another victory. After getting a decent start in the main event, Villopoto sat sixth, until a trip off the track ended his night early. He currently sits fourth in the standings, 15 points behind the leader with four races remaining.
The AMA National Enduro Series hosted its opening round on Sunday in Greensboro, Ga. Moose Racing’s Nick Fahringer came out swinging at the season opener, winning two tests and finishing in the runner-up position.
The Monster Energy Supercross headed east for the first time this season, marking the opening round of the Eastern Regional 250SX class. Moose Racing’s Gareth Swanepoel had a good first showing, qualifying straight into the main event from his heat, where he would eventually finish 13th.
