MotoConcepts Racing Wraps Up Inaugural Supercross Season - Alessi 8th in the 250 West

Spokane, Wash. (May 6, 2009) – MotoConcepts Racing (MCRMX) has finished their first year in professional Supercross racing and looks forward to continued success in the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship this summer.  MCRMX completed the Supercross season with 450 riders Heath Voss, Ben Coisy and Tyler Bowers.  On the 250 side, Jeff Alessi rode the West class while Vince Friese was out East.

Alessi enjoyed a top ten finish in the highly competitive West division, finishing 8th overall.  The Victorville, CA native will now move up to the 450 class for the Outdoor Nationals.

Rookie Friese placed 15th overall in the East class.  This past weekend in the final Supercross race in Las Vegas, Friese rode to an 18th overall finish in the East/West Shootout.  The Missouri native will ride this summer in the 250 class for MCRMX.

Injury prevented Ben Coisy from competing in the final two rounds of the 2009 Supercross season.  The 5-time French Supercross Champion was still able to land in the top 20 though, with an 18th overall finish. Coisy posted three top ten finishes during the year, with an impressive 6th place finish at Indianapolis.  Coisy will ride in the 450 class this summer.

Rookie Tyler Bowers improved throughout the season and showed great promise as the youngest member to compete in the 450 class this season.  The Kentucky native finished the year just off the top 20 at 21st overall.  Bowers will ride in the 450 class this summer and round out the team for MCRMX.

Veteran Heath Voss had another strong Supercross season and nearly walked away with Privateer of the Year honors.  A mechanical problem with his front brake in the Las Vegas main event kept Voss from making a serious charge for the award.  Voss entered the Vegas event only one point behind eventual winner Matt Boni.  Voss joined the MCRMX team midway through the Supercross season and will not be competing in the 2009 Outdoor Nationals.

“For a first year team we had some strong finishes and usually had three riders each weekend in the main event,” stated Team Manager Steve Lamson. “We are looking to improve on our results next year, but now we are committed to having a successful outdoor season this summer.  Team Owner Mike Genova is committed to winning and putting a successful product out on the track each week.”
