Corona, CA – MSR’s Nick Wey is set to debut on the Monster Energy Kawasaki team this weekend in San Francisco. Wey started the season aboard a privateer supported Kawasaki and got the call up to the factory team to fill in for an injured Chad Reed. Nick will be able to continue his long-standing relationship with MSR throughout his stint on the factory squad. It is unclear how long before Reed makes his return, but Wey intends on taking full advantage of the opportunity.
“This is a great opportunity for me,” said Wey. “I want to thank everyone at my team for letting me ride for the Monster Energy Kawasaki team while Chad gets better. I’m going to get some testing in this week and I’ll be ready for San Francisco.”
The MSR crew is hustling to prepare gear for the weekend, but look for Wey’s MSR Velocity helmet to be sporting a fresh Monster paint job and his MSR NXT gear to include the team’s official branding for the remainder of his time with factory Kawasaki.
