In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
Last October, I got to spend a lot of time with Honda HRC’s Cole Seely in Japan as he raced the final round of the 2016 All Japan National Championship with great success. It’s always fun getting to hang out with Cole, as he’s a really down-to-earth guy with a great sense of humor. It was in Japan that I first saw Cole’s new Plus Red Elixir helmet, and I really liked its design and coloring. “I helped design it!” Cole said. “It took several renditions, but I am stoked with the way it came out.” In a sea of Monster Energy and Rockstar Energy helmets, Seely’s lid really stands out and personally, I really like it!
Last Saturday night, Cole put his Rich Simmons-tune Honda CRF450R on the podium for the first time this season, and in the process, gave his new sponsor its first podium-finish. “It was good to get a start and begin building some momentum,” he said. “My confidence is growing each round and my bike is feeling great. I’m super bummed for my teammate Kenny, but he is a strong dude.”
