Ricky James Wins His Debut Race in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series

Oceanside, CA (July 27, 2009) -  Ricky James left nothing on the table as he took his SoCal Supertrucks machine to his first win in the SuperLite class his debut at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series this weekend at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex.

The weather was hot and so was the racing at Lake Elsinore and the new SuperLite class proved to be some of the most exciting racing both days. After winning his first ever Lucas Oil Off Road Race on Satuday night, the pressure was on Ricky for Sunday night’s race and James didn’t disappoint. David Reyes took the early lead off the line as Ricky had a good start in 3rd with his #24 SoCal SuperTrucks truck. But James did some great driving, took the lead on lap 2 and never looked back. When the dust settled James stood on top of the podium for an incredible debut in the series.

“SoCal gave me a great truck to race this weekend”, said James. “I love this series and I’m looking forward to being up here on the podium a lot more in the future”.

“Ricky exemplifies the true racer, whether it’s dirt bikes, NASCAR trucks, Baja or short course truck racing. He’s an inspiration to all of us and we’re stoked to have him on our team”, said Casey Coughlin, Co-owner of SoCal SuperTrucks.

Ricky did a pretty remarkable thing this weekend, qualified first, and took first place both nights in his first off road truck race. This is definitely a start to something much bigger!!!
