TEAM SAN MANUEL’S JAMES STEWART FORCED TO WITHDRAW FROM INTERNATIONAL SUPERCROSS RACES
Temecula, CA - In a difficult yet critical decision, it was announced today that James Stewart will withdraw from competing in the Genoa Supercross (Genoa, Italy) and Brisbane Super X (Brisbane, Australia) due to medical reasons. James was forced to withdraw from the 3rd day of racing the Bercy Supercross (Paris, France) and forfeit his potential win as a result of contracting a severe case of food poisoning. Upon return to the United States and his home base in Florida, James took minimal time to recover before getting back into an aggressive training and testing program for the upcoming races and 2010 Supercross season. After recent medical evaluation, his Doctor and L&M medical staff found his immune system to be dangerously compromised and James was advised by his Doctor and Team that he should discontinue any strenuous activity and not travel out of the country at this time.
When asked about the decision, James had this to say: “I am really bummed about not being able to race in Italy and Australia. I’ve had such a great experience racing internationally. The fans are incredible and the race organizations really go out of their way to support me racing. I really wish I could still go but after talking with my doctors and team it’s not in my best interest to jeopardize my health before the long Supercross season starts.” Said Larry Brooks, Team San Manuel Manager “At this time, James will be focusing on getting healthy and preparing to defend his Supercross championship title. Taking time to improve his health and well being is our first priority.” James will continue to undergo medical evaluation and refrain from any kind of strenuous training activity until his Doctor and medical staff advise he is fit to resume.

What a crock of S…T! To let down all the fans and people who have outlayed big money like myself to travel half way across the country to see him ride in Brisbane just because of food poisoning this early on. Get real. Poor style Bubba!

Our son & mates bought airline tkts to travel to Brisbane to watch Bubba challenge Reedy and premium tkts to the race. My husband & I declined to join them as we had a family bet that Bubba was not even coming in the first place. It was just a gimick to lure more spectators to the venue to raise bigger bucks. We travel all over the world, eat & drink local water & do not suffer from food poisioning, which should only lasts 24-48hrs. Perhaps Bubba should change doctors and employ a healthy nutrionist instead, or come up with a better explanation as to why he has let Australian fans down big time. A REFUND is applicable.

You cry babys if he's sick well then he is sick if he just doesn't want to go there to race then so be it quite whining on here about how he owes you and the rest of the ungrateful fan base. He does not owe you anything.

TO: all disapointed fans of Bubba
Stewart forced to withdraw, did anyone break his arms? What a lot of rubbish. They're racing Dec 05 2009. Check out Casey Stoner's real reasons from withdrawing due to health & stamina reasons, over the world Championships, there speed & laps. Compare the laps they do, Stoner is onlly 24yrs of age and there you have a geniune reason to withdraw from the series & let Valentiono win. Casey is an honest Ozzie. Food Poising can be resolved within 36yrs at the most. Perhaps drug testing should be enforced before any race in this race or is it just a "game" & benefits on the big bucks $$$$$$$$$$$$$. You tell me.

one last thing, its all to do with marketing & all the b…t sourrounding this game. imagine the people who paid the corporate boxes over $285 p.p. will they get a refund and covered by insurance?? I wish I could get a job with this marketing/advertising group, but it looks like I have to go to the States to join up with Bimbos. no thanks

i bet it's aids
November 17th, 2009 at 5:25 am
Well the post states that he drop out of Bercy on the last day; whatever he had must have been pretty severe for James to let that win go, and he employs a trainer and nutritionist so he is eating on a healthy diet, but when his immune system became vulnerable, he may have developed some other illness not related to his first. For the disappointed fans, what if he became injured by racing in those international races while not at 100% resulting in a withdrawal from the 2010 supercross season. He is at the professional level and he have to make choices that benefit his career the most. Traveling all over the world to race that many times would take a tole on any racer, and has done before if you recall broadcasts from 2009, they get rundown and the immune system can't fight off sicknesses that are harder to fight, and especially more prone to internationally.

to bcc 119 - its not about beating chad, we know he can do that anytime, anyday, its about sportsmanship , followers & fans . The fact that he's not here for us to watch him beat Chad, is a shame. Aussie riders & James fans would have enjoyed the challenge to meet such a superstar. Go James, & get well soon.
