Works Connection Elite Perch

Price: $79.95 (body), $37.95 (quick adjust), $37.95 (lever)

What It Is: Works Connection is one of the original builders of a quick-adjust clutch perch, and the Elite Perch is now available in a 1-2-3 EZ Build configuration that allows you to choose your perch body, quick adjuster, and lever. Why would anyone want to have that many option, you ask? Easy. This system allows you to choose the color of the body, the color of the quick adjuster, and the color and leverage ratio of the lever. Every brand of dirt bike has a different leverage ratio and throw at the clutch lever, and Works Connection makes levers to match the dimensions and specifications of each manufacturer. (Say Brand X makes a rad quick-adjust clutch perch and bases it on the Honda leverage ratio…if you put that on a Kawasaki, chances are you will smoke your clutch plates long before they should normally wear out.) The 1-2-3 EZ Build system also allows you to make crazy color combos, or replace only one portion at a time if it becomes damaged in a crash.

Why It Is Cool: There are a lot of aftermarket clutch perches out there, and in my opinion, Eric Phipps and his crew at Works Connection do it best. The Elite Perch is easy to install, is beautifully machined, and completely customizable. Furthermore, the action of the quick-adjuster is smooth and easy to operate while riding, and the shape of the clutch lever itself has an awesome feel in your fingers. In all the years of running Elite Perches, I’ve only ever damaged on lever, and that was when my bike fell off the stand in the street as I was power washing it. The nylon sleeve allows the perch to spin on the bar in the event of a normal crash, and the lever is nice and strong. The action of the lever itself is smooth and precise, thanks to a small bearing inside the pivot point. We’ve actually used our Elite perches for as many as three seasons, as we take them off our test bikes before we return them each year. That says a lot about the quality and durability of the Works Connection parts.
