Talavera Opens FIM MX3 World Championship Season this Weekend

FUNCHAL, 2 April 2007- Only some more days and new MX3 World Championship season will start. The first event will take place this weekend in Talavera de la Reina, Spain. This season will see 16 races.

The Spanish organizers are ready to host the best riders of the MX3 World Championship and MX2 European Championship. In Spain there will be almost all the best riders from the last season. Two riders of the top three from the season 2007 already finished their careers. These are: three time MX3 World Champion Yves Demaria (France) and Jussi Pekka Vehvilainen (Finland), who finished third overall. Both of them are injured at the moment. But there will be many new riders, who will make the season even more interesting.

In the MX3 class, 2005 World Champion Sven Breugelmans looks forward to a brilliant season but he will surely face tough opponents in the likes of Italian Cristian Beggi –runner up in the World in 2004 and third in 2006; Spaniard GP winner Garcia Vico, who starred in several World Championship seasons, and countryman Alvaro Lozano; Czech Martin Zerava and Saso Kragelj from Slovenia.

In the EMX2 class, after last year’s Champion Gautier Paulin left the series to enter the GP scene, Loic Rombaut, fifth last year, will be back to action aiming at his first Title. Rivals such as Dutchman Ceriel Klein Kromhof and Italians Rudi Moroni and Andrea Cervellin will surely chase him as they also have Title chances for this season.

In Talavera there will be 72 riders in the MX3 World Championship and 92 riders in MX2 European Championship.
