The FIM appoints a Marketing Director

The FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) is currently working on a long term strategic plan and has identified the need to appoint a Marketing Director. Mr Olivier Godallier, currently in charge of Marketing with FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basketball) since 2003, will join the FIM in this capacity as of 1st of March 2008. Mr Godallier has a strong practical experience related to publicity, marketing, media, branding and licensing as well as working with Sports Federations. He was given a similar remit to create and launch a dynamic Basketball strategy and used all marketing and communication avenues to help globally grow both the brand and the sport. Prior to his employment at FIBA, Mr Godallier was involved in athlete brand management in a variety of sports such as football, rugby, tennis and motorsports including motorcycling sport. He has a very good understanding and knowledge of the sport and its key stakeholders, including motorcycle sport.

Guy Maitre, FIM CEO stated: “I am very pleased to have Olivier Godallier joining the FIM staff as Marketing Director in the present circumstances when the FIM is planning its future, as I am convinced that his past experience in similar sports positions will help the FIM improve its communications internally and externally and capitalise on the possibilities of creating new income.”
