Weston Peick’s night in Phoenix was a 50-50 mix of good and bad. The AutoTrader.com/Toyota/Yamaha rider battled for a podium position with Ryan Dungey for much of the main event and looked poised to take the spot in the closing laps until a small error on a jump left him with a foot injury. He underwent short-notice surgery to fix the damage immediately after Phoenix in order to possibly race at Anaheim Two, but it was just not to be. After four weeks off, Peick returned to action in Arlington and appeared just as quick as ever. We spent a few minutes with Weston in the afternoon and discussed the injury in detail.

Unfortunately, Peick was collected in a first-turn crash and tore his MCL in the incident, which forced him to forfeit the main event. Despite the new injury, Peick intends to race as much as possible and will line up in Atlanta.
