Words and Photos by Mike Emery | @emeryphoto
Being the photo editor of TransWorld Motocross, I can tell you right now that I keep very busy. Between assembling the magazine’s photography needs and working with our photographers to shooting a good amount of photos week-in and week-out, the shutter button on my workhorse Nikon D4s gets pressed more than it can keep up with sometimes. What’s a way for me to keep shooting fresh? The answer is doing different stuff, and working on unique ideas that don’t have to work out perfectly every time. Enter my little FujiFilm Instax Instant Camera, which is a good reminder to remember the roots and have fun in between my normal shots. I toted this thing around all day and night at Anaheim One, and thought it would be fun to share what I got – the best part is that none of these matter, its a total bonus if I shoot something cool. It’s a one and done deal, no second tries here unless you plan on spending another $1.25 on the next photo (but that’s the fun challenge!) I hadn’t used this new Fujifilm Monochrome film before, but I was happy with the results. Take a look at what I’m calling “Stacks” from A1 with photos of photos for this small gallery of fun.
