News From Round Six

– Props to Broc Tickle for gutting out the day with a shoulder injury. Per an RCH press release, Tickle popped his shoulder out in a practice crash and got it put back in before the two motos. Pair that with a first turn crash in the day’s first moto and damn, that was a tough day for a rider that typically does well at RedBud.

– Ken Roczen was in attendance at RedBud and from the sound of things, enjoyed himself over the course of the weekend with a trip to Lot B and some time in the announcer’s tower. He’s certainly eager to get back into competition.

– Thoughts on the second moto collision between Jason Anderson and Blake Baggett? It certainly had an impact on Baggett, as he wasn’t able to get back on his bike until nearly the entire field went by. Baggett fought his way back up to tenth place but lost a lot of points and the championship lead to Eli Tomac in the process. After the race, Baggett paid a visit to the medics and had them check out his thumb, which was injured in the impact and is reportedly either fractured or sprained. Keep an eye on this as we head into Southwick, along with the relationship between the two teams.

– Expect a full update on Jordon Smith later this week. Per the Troy Lee Designs/GoPro/Red Bull/KTM team he either has a sprained or torn ligament in his knee from a recent crash, which could put him out for much longer than originally expected.
