There was a bit of a different feel throughout the Steel City facility today, though, we’re certain that’s because the weekends racing action has been moved to Friday/Saturday instead of the standard Saturday/Sunday schedule. The reasoning behind the change in days is in an effort to help riders and teams spend the rest of their holiday weekend with family and friends.
According the many weather reports, Friday called for rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Thankfully, these reports were wrong, as there was no sign of rain. As for the action on the track, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s James Stewart set the fastest times of the day in the Motocross class, which were well over three seconds faster than the next fastest time. In the Lites class, Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey produced the fastest lap of the day, just over a second faster than Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto.
