Jason Lawrence may be a lot of things but one thing he isn’t is slow. Some of you hate him so much that you can’t even concede that. All of the DNQ talk is bullshit. If there’s one thing that we can count on, it’s that anything associated with Jason Lawrence will generate tons of traffic on the web site. J-Law has A. Rabid, dedicated fans, and B. Super-enthused anti-fans. Even those who dislike him will still click on a story or video about him, just to sit and stew in their hatred.
Blind allegiance? I don’t think so. J-Law drives traffic.

Should you say no? If all you really care about are numbers in the terms of traffic, sure go ahead and pimp J-Law - after all that is what you are doing.
But if you cared about the future of the sport and the influences an athlete (For the most part that would have been banned from EVER competing again in any other credible sport) has on the future generation of little moto guys and gals, then you guys are failing miserably in setting any kind of quality example for our youth.
Too bad when so many people look up to the example and standard you guys at TWMX set…

Like it or not, Lawrence is one of our sport’s top riders. It is our job to deliver the personalities of our sport to our readers, not to selectively do so or pass judgement on any of them. And, it is not our job to protect the “future generation of little moto guys.” That sir, is the job of people most commonly referred to as PARENTS.
As far as who we decide to cover on our web site, all I have to say, is if you don’t like it, don’t click it.

Can’t argue with the fact that J-Law is, at least right now, one of the top riders. Interesting that you would hide behind the “It’s the parents job” argument to absolve you of any responsibility when, if I am not mistaken, there are those who would argue that many, if not most of the issues with J-Law come from lack of parental guidance.
Believe it or not Swap, there are a lot of kids out there who don’t have parents for any one of numerous reasons. Often time these kids are looking for direction from “Role models”
God help us if you believe J-Law is a suitable role model and I have know idea why you would want to pimp a guy who’s actions are questionable at best.
Unless it’s all about the $$$$.

While I understand the “job” factor in having to keep up and post info about current riders like Mr. Lawrence I do agree with anonymous on the fact that he is an aweful influence. Look at all the posts about him not caring and being idolized for it… while I love the magazine and would not stop reading or subscribing just because of views on one rider I may not agree with, there are those of us out there that Mr. Lawrence is turning off from the sport. I would not support, One Ind. and some of his sponsors because they choose to sponsor him. Isnt that their desired effect just in the negative way. Sponsor a rider someone likes so they can get their product seen and purchased. It does have a negative effect to and he has turned alot of people off to this sport. I dont come to pages involving him for drama, just for Swaps awesome photography and video skills.

If we were all racing like that what would be the point of a mag like transworld? Noone would care enough about other riders to try to keep up with them. Just because we cant ride like him because we werent home school and maybe just not born with some athletic attributes doesnt mean we dont know a punk or a sinner when we see one! The conscience is the highest governing law in the land and anyone that thinks that what Mr. Lawrence does outside of racing is not a sin is lying to themselves or doomed to follow the same road he is. What do you think the point of sponsorship is? If those are the kind of people that One Ind. want to be associated with then good for them. I hope they go bankrupt… I know they cant all sponsor good riders like Reed, Bubba, Canard, and Dungey… well check that they screwed that up… they just made it clear where their motivatition is… MONEY! Not all of us ride moto for that reason, at least motocross like the rest of the world is selling out to the top dollar. That is why Transworld puts so much time into Mr. Lawrence, I understand Swap has kids he has to feed so he needs to sell advertising space and magazines… where is the line drawn?

J-Law has been MIA this season due to crashes, fights resulting in suspension, and the IV incident (which some say was actually a hangover). Yet, the minute he is on a 450 we are hearing “top 5 this weekend”. J-Law may finish in the top five. However, his current results and behavior this season make DNF, DNQ or suspension by the AMA a far safer bet then a top 5 finish. J-Law may generate traffic but his actions are irresponsible and a slap in the face to people and riders that follow the rules. Lets see what happens if he takes Stewart or Reed out in a corner. Whether through drugs, a stint in prison, permanent AMA suspension, his sponsors finally abandoning him, and/or wadding himself up in a car accident I agree with the previous comment that J-Law will be gone from the sport in a few years (maybe sooner).

There is not a person posting here that could hang with him for a lap. He is living the dream. That is what makes his conduct so inexcusable. Each one of us would kill to have the talent J-Law has for riding a bike. His willingness to continually engage in inexcusable behavior that results in suspensions and bad press for him and the sport is difficult to understand, particularly when each time it happens he apologizes and says it won’t happen again. My riding partner was a pro rider for Honda during the 1980’s. He shakes his head over the money J-Law is throwing away through his conduct and suspensions.
By the way, disrespecting the GOAT by joe101UK was bad form and in poor taste. Even Swap has to cringe at that one.

Lawrence is awesome. Hes one of my favorite riders ever to watch, right up with Pastrana and Reynard. Hes also got one of the best personalities in the sport! Alot of the ‘role model’ riders i guess you could say even appreciate him and his niche in our sport. I hope he keeps doing whatever he wants, time will change what that is, and until then, we should appreciate him for what he is! I hope his future success on a dirtbike is unlimited! F*CK THE HATE! It’s funny how people can say he’s a terrible rider. He Kicks a$$ but there sone thing about him. HIS ATTITUDE AND THE WAY HE TREATS THE SPORT IS F***ING MESSED UP. Ok i won’t disagree that he can ride which he can. BUT!!!!!!!! He is an A HOLE!!!!! Talk is cheap!!!!! yah he may have that 1W but he should be respectful of the sport. Theres a reason Bubba, Reed, McGrath…… are great, becuase they take their job seriously. They work day in and day out. All that little A$$ does is trash talk other riders and F’ up. I think RV2 is going to have fun now knowing he is racing in the supercross class now. I can’t wait to see what he deserves. Theres a reason People start in the Lites class. To gain confidence and expierence before stepping up. He may get top ten but no way in hell is he getting 1st or even 5th. The speed of 1st threw 10th is to fast for him. I am very dissapointed in Transworld MX. You guys both, Chris and Swap, worship the ground this piece of shit walks on. James Stewart, the fastest rider on the planet, does not get this kind of coverage from you guys. And you know what? James is a stand up guy. I guess you have to get in fights, suspended from the sport TWICE in less than one year, and talk shit all the time to get noticed by you two. Lay off Lawrence already. There will be nothing new to see when he moves up to the 450. He could not beat RV on a 250, he will not beat him now. And for sure he wont even be a factor for the podium, unless all the stars align and James, Reed, and RV crash out. Then maybe there will be a chance. I really hope that he gets the hole shot and Stewart stuffs his ass in the first corner. After he gets up, I hope RV stuffs him. Then after he is a lap down, I hope Reed stuffs him just to say “welcome to the big boys dumb ass, and we aint gonna put up with your shit here.” Oh yeah, and it was pretty awesome when he talked MAD shit about Dungey at A1, then went on to lose the race, be himself by cutting a huge section of the track, and then miss the main at the next race. Watching someone ruin their career with their mouth and actions has never been so enjoyable to watch. This move to the 450 class is his last…LAST…chance at redemption. And you know what Swap and Chris? I hope he doesnt get banned from the sport because if he does, you two will have nothing to do. Who knows, maybe you will take video of him sitting at home wishing he could still race. Now that is one video and interview I would never get tired of watching.

All these J LAW hater are going overboard. Have you seen what your NBA, NFL, MLB, celebrities, politicians are doing these days. They have a much bigger effect on the youth of america than J LAW. Yet they all continue to do what they do. J LAW rides DIRTBIKES for a living for godsakes hes not a running for govenor. I only addressed your incorrect fact. Everything else is your opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I am the last guy to argue with an anonymous Internet bandit about his opinons. If you pay any attention to our web site, you should know that when we hook up with a rider for a shoot, we post a photo gallery, an interview video, and oftentimes two action videos: one slow motion and one full speed. So, though you feel we favor Jason just because we posted these last three web features and are wrong, I will let it be.
Here’s a grand idea for you. Why don’t you start your own magazine and web site? Then you can post all of YOUR opinions and choose who should and shouldn’t be covered. It’s not that hard. C’mon…I did it eight and a half years ago; you can too!

what your sayin is true, but your just so used to all the riders now. jason has the racing attitude needed in this sport to win! stewart does the same. if hes in last he doesnt care what he has to do to get by another rider as long as he gets by them. he rarely has to becasuse he always in first but jason has the perfect attitude for riding.
