In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
Every year, a new batch of amateur racers make the move up to the pro class after spending upwards of 12 or 13 years in the amateur ranks in some cases, so it should come as no surprise that this transition can sometimes be a difficult one for these young riders. In order to help with this transition though, KTM created the Orange Brigade program that’s specifically aimed at grooming young riders for their eventual graduation to the pro ranks.
Earlier this week, we received an invite to the 2017 Orange Brigade Camp, which was held at Brian Deegan’s moto paradise in Temecula, CA. The “General’s” playground features several motocross tracks including a mini-style Supercross track along with a picturesque, yet technical outdoor track, that was put to use by KTM’s rising stars of the amateur motocross scene. OBCamp17 saw the likes of Haiden Deegan, Max Vollhand, Pierce Brown and Sean Cantrell along with several other Orange Brigade mini and big bike riders, as they sharpened their skills on the track with Buddy “Budman” Antunez and former 125cc West Coast SX Champ Nathan Ramsey. Motocross racing has a bright future ahead of it and it’s currently in good hands thanks to the people behind Team Orange Brigade KTM, as well as these hard-working and talented athletes who have dedicated their lives to this sport.
