In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
I think the first time I heard of Trey Canard was because he was featured in an amateur motocross movie from the early 2000s that one of my riding buddies owned. I'm guessing Trey was anywhere between 12-15 years old when the movie was filmed, and in this short segment, Trey and a couple of his friends were doing some goon riding in the mud and rain. My first impression of Canard was memorable to say the least because that short segment at the end of the movie kept us laughing hysterically no matter how many times we watched it.
I was fortunate enough to meet Canard a few years ago amidst his time at Team Honda HRC, and although he's matured quite a bit since his days of goonin' in the mud, the Oklahoma native has always been very enjoyable to be around. Even on his worst days, Canard seems to find some sort of positivity within the situation, and I truly admire that. We're going to miss seeing you at the races on the weekends, but we hope you enjoy the same success in the next chapter of your life. Congratulations on a stellar career, Trey and thank you for always being down to work with us, even if it's after a couple 30 minute motos.
