In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
Each new year brings a new graduating class of young, talented motocross racers that are ready to test their abilities against the best in the world, and 2017 has been no different thus far. Several first-time Supercross riders – including Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Forkner – have really added to the excitement this year, and it looks like the excitement will continue throughout the approaching outdoor season, as several other amateurs are slated to make the move up to the pro ranks at the 2017 Hangtown MX National.
One of the more noteworthy rookies scheduled to line up at the opening round of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GoPro/KTM’s Sean Cantrell. The number 37 signed a multi-year contract with the factory supported team and the deal will take him two years into his professional career. Cantrell has a golden opportunity that some many kill for, but this young gun is taking full advantage of this opportunity, and it’s evident in the work he puts in everyday with his trainer Tyler Kalisiak. May 20th is shaping up to be a good weekend for motocross racing, so make sure you tune in to watch the TLD rookie at his pro debut.
