In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…

Back in September 2014 I was hired by Red Bull to head to Milestone MX to shoot what was the very first public Red Bull Straight Rhythm track. To think back and realize it’s been just two years is a little crazy, but besides that it was a pretty cool thing to be on hand shooting! Both James and Malcolm Stewart were on hand riding together and signing autographs, but a very stylish Jessy Nelson sort of stole the show with crazy speed and style that made everyone think “Man he looks good going into 2015…”

Flash forward to Anaheim 1, 2015 and we all watched Jessy win the 250 Main Event under the lights. Not really an upset seeing as Jessy was always a contender, but it was a big win at the year’s biggest event none the less. It’s hard to see a rider go through an injury like he has, but if anyone has the right attitude to overcome it’s Jessy. The dude always has a smile on his face, and from the looks of the latest Facebook Live video that Donn did yesterday, he’s well on his way to making huge strides in his recovery. I was digging through the archives and found this wheelie shot and thought is made for a damn cool photo of the day, a reminder that any day on two wheels is a gift. Hope you agree.
