In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
The 2017 Monster Energy Supercross Series is nearing it’s final stages, as only three stops remain in the 17 round series, which means it’s crunch time for the riders and teams in the championship points chase. However, while riders and their teams prepare for the final rounds of Supercross they must also begin their transition from Supercross to motocross, as the rapidly approaching Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is set to kick off just two weeks after Las Vegas SX.
By now, many of the athletes and teams alike are well into outdoor testing, and we’re getting really excited! The 2016 outdoor series proved to be very exciting, and for 2017 the racing should be even more intense with the addition of Cooper Webb to the premier class, as well as the multitude of key players in the 250 class that have the potential to win on any given weekend.
This shot of Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvara’s Zach Osborne was taken in 2016 around this time of year at the infamous Glen Helen Raceway, as the Virginia native prepped for the opening round in Hangtown. Just a few months after this shot was taken, Osborne went on to earn his first outdoor national overall at Budds Creek MX, and since then the #16 has claimed three more race wins in the 2017 Supercross Series. With all of this momentum on his side, you may want to include Osborne on your list of title contenders come Hangtown!
