In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
Today’s Photo Of The Day comes from our last trip to the Suzuki test track in Corona, California, and it features Autotrader/Monster Energy/JGRMX Suzuki’s Weston Peick. It’s always enjoyable to watch Peick’s bull-dog riding style because let’s face it, there aren’t many guys on the professional circuit built quite like the number 32.
Peick is a Southern California native like myself, so I’ve been able to watch him climb through the ranks since his days in the Intermediate division; rest assured his riding style hasn’t changed much over the years. I remember Weston’s dad Louie at the races, as well because I used to think he was a scary dude, but I later found out that’s not the case whatsoever; he’s a super cool guy. Fast forward a few years, and you’ll find Weston under the canopy of a factory supported team where he’s logged several impressive finishes after years as a full blown privateer aboard the yellow machines.
The 2017 racing season is right around the corner, and we’re excited to see how Peick will fair against the rest of his competitors on a machine that essentially helped him build his career into what it is today.
