In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…

Daytona didn’t as planned for current points leader and reigning Supercross champion Ryan Dungey. A terrible first lap put the #5 bike deep into the pack, making for a true-grit ride that no points leader ever wants to endure. While most of the eyes were out front watching Jeremy Martin hold off Eli Tomac for 10 laps, Dungey was clawing his way through the pack with everything he had. Down to the last corner, he made it by Cole Seely for 4th place and minimized what could have been a huge points swing. Rides like this are what make champions, and if Ryan earns his third consecutive championship this year you can bet this push forward was a major key to it. Cheers to the effort put in, and here’s to hoping for some more great battles from Ryan and main competitor Eli Tomac as the final seven rounds come to a close. This shot stuck out I paged through the images, because you can see just how pissed off Ryan is through his goggle lens as he pounded out 20 aggressive laps.
