In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
Benoit Paturel is practically unknown to American motocross fans. Riding in the MX2 class for Kemea Yamaha in the Monster Energy FIM Motocross World Championship, Paturel has improved tremendously in recent years and finished 2016 ranked third in the season standings, thanks to a string of podium finishes midway in the middle of the summer. While that alone is impressive, it’s even more extraordinary to know that Paturel was able to focus on his career just days after his mother passed away.
In a few weeks, Paturel will represent Team France at the 2016 Motocross of Nations. Many have voiced their concerns on his selection, especially over Marvin Musquin, but the young rider certainly has the talent to help the two-time and defending champion team remain at the front of the field.
