Scanned | A Week of Film in Florida

For the Photo Nerds

Photos and Words by Mike Emery | @emeryphoto

With everything at the touch of our fingertips in 2017, it’s easy to take for granted that you can have¬†anything you could ever want at an instant moment on your phone. While this is rad, it’s still good to remember the roots of where “instant” photos came from – Polaroid cameras being at the forefront years and years ago. I picked this old (45+ years old to be exact) Polaroid Land Camera up a few years back and decided to bring it along on the trip to Florida for Daytona. Check out some real film old-school instant satisfaction through the lens of this beast. It’s super tough to focus, the settings are sometimes literally a shot in the dark, sometimes the shutter sticks and the photo it either ruined or blurry, but every photo good or bad is satisfying and fun. I had these scanned to share with my fellow photo nerds out there…enjoy!
