With two races left, two champions were crowned last weekend at Millville: Ryan Villopoto and James Stewart. Although RV2 won the championship, he is hoping to get an overall win this weekend at Southwick after being defeated by Ryan Dungey at the last two races. As for Stewart, he is inching closer and closer to a perfect season. With four motos left, the only thing that can stop Bubba now is a DNF.
The weather at Southwick was surprisingly cool, staying in the low to mid 80s throughout the day. While fans were enjoying the comfortable temperatures, there seemed to be a rather relaxed atmosphere in the pits. It may have something to do with the fact that champions have been crowned in both the Lites and Motocross class, and the season is practically over. Even so, that didn’t stop Stewart or Josh Grant from setting the fastest lap times of the day. Both Bubba and JG20 were two seconds faster than the second place rider.
It looks like tomorrow’s forecast will be more of the same: low 80s with a 10% chance of rain. As for the racing action, check back tomorrow night for the TWMX Race Report and all of the highlights from Sunday’s racing action.
